Bio

Petri Juntunen (b. Gothenburg, Sweden) is a Finnish photographer and visual artist, currently living and working in Helsinki. In his works and projects, Juntunen studies the topics of memory, existence and social constructs, often using novel methods of imaging and representation including 3D scanning, photogrammetry, photo sculptures and projections. He has participated in several group and solo exhibitions in Europe and Finland, the latest solo exhibition “Sunken City” being at Guernsey Photofestival and his works appear in private and museum collections.

Apart from acting as a visual artist, Juntunen has been worked as a director, cinematographer and photojournalist and have graduated from MA studies at Photography at Aalto University, The School of Art, Design and Architecture in Helsinki, Finland. His first monograph "At The Heart Of It All" was published by the German publisher Hatje Cantz. 

 

Currently Juntunen is working to produce solo exhibitions for 2019/2020 and doing artistic research with theme of Photography’s Transformation within Virtual Realities.
