Singularity (2010)

Each year, approximately 2,000 individuals go missing in Finland, whether by choice or circumstance. While most are eventually accounted for, a few dozen vanish without a trace. The series Singularity is a study of this absence and the spaces that non-presence inhabits. Realized with a LiDAR laser scanning array, the series depicts the physical environments defined by disappearance, the scanner acting as an impartial observer.
